South - Social Investment - Round 2 2013/2014
Criteria
This fund helps build the capacity of community groups to develop activities, programmes and services across the Franklin, Howick, Mangere-Otahuhu, Manurewa, Otara-Papatoetoe and Papakura local board areas of Auckland Council.
There are two funds for:
- projects that benefit the residents of a single local board area (Single Board Grant), and
- projects that benefit residents from no more than two of the above local board areas (Multiple Boards Grant).
Who can apply?
Applications are invited from not-for-profit community groups with projects that:
- target youth skills development
- promote capacity-building of selected disadvantaged communities.
Groups requesting more than $3,000 must have legal status (i.e. be an incorporated society or registered charitable trust) or apply under the umbrella of an organisation that does.
Fund size
- Single Board Grants - average grant $6,500.
- Multiple Boards Grants - generally between $20,000 and $35,000, with limited funds available for smaller grants.
When funding is available
There will be two rounds of funding for 2013/2014.
The first round will open on 1 June and close on 28 June 2013.
The second round will close on 28 February 2014.
Fund guidelines
Your group should:
- have clearly defined goals and objectives
- not currently be receiving assistance through existing Council funds/budgets
- be able to satisfy council of your ability to manage your finances
- have pursued alternative avenues of funding to support the project or activity, and
- have met accountability responsibilities where Council funding has been received previously.
Projects that are eligible for central government contract funding are not eligible for assistance from council.
