South - Local Papakura Community Grants - Round 2 2013/2014

Criteria

This fund provides financial assistance to community groups and not-for-profit organisations that are providing services, projects or activities of benefit to the social and/or cultural wellbeing of the Papakura community.

Who can apply?

Only community organisations that work in the Papakura Local Board area are eligible for this fund.

In addition, groups must:

  • be not-for-profit
  • have a primary purpose of contributing to community wellbeing
  • have legal status (i.e. be an incorporated society or registered charitable trust) or apply under the umbrella of an organisation that does, and
  • have provided an accountability report for previous Council grants.

Fund size

The maximum grant is $2500. Residents associations can apply for an annual grant of $250.

When funding is available

There will be two funding rounds for 2013/2014.

The first round opens on 1 June and closes on 28 June 2013.

The second round closes on 28 February 2014.

Fund guidelines

This fund will prioritise projects, services and activities focused on:

  • fostering involvement in the arts and recreation
  • releasing the potential of rangatahi/young people
  • encouraging access to and care for the natural environment
  • supporting safe and stable communities

The following are a low priority for funding:

  • Purposes for which funds are readily available elsewhere (e.g. uniforms)
  • Expenditure where the impact is indirect (e.g. websites)
  • Activities/projects taking place outside the Papakura Local Board area
  • Travel
  • Accommodation
  • Food.

Capped items – a maximum of $500 will be granted towards the following:

  • Publicity – including signage, newsletters, advertising and flyers
  • Computer technology and software
  • Office equipment and services
  • Capital items.
