Upper Harbour Local Board Community Group Funding - 2014/2015 Round 1

Submissions closed at 5:00PM 15 July 2014 (NZST).

Applicants are encouraged to read the relevant Local Board Plan before submitting an application. You will be asked to identify how your project aligns with the local board’s priorities. Local board plans can be ordered from the call centre on (09) 301 0101, picked up from your local library or Council service centre or viewed online at www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/localboardplans

The Upper Harbour Local Board recognises the vital role that community groups and organisations play in developing strong, sustainable communities. Through the Discretionary Community Grants fund, the Upper Harbour Local Board aims to strengthen our local community by supporting projects that provide a community benefit, are equitable and inclusive and result in a gain to the local area. We will particularly encourage activities, projects, programmes, initiatives, and events that give effect to the priorities in our Local Board Plan.

Criteria

The Board, in coming to its decision, will consider the following factors:

  • The benefit of your proposal to the local area 
  • Your group’s role in the local area 
  • The alignment of your proposal with the priorities of the Board, such as:
  •  youth and families
  •  the environment
  •  migrants
  •  volunteering
  •  community participation

The Board will not fund:

  • Activities that have already taken place before the Board has the opportunity to consider the application (unless the Board accepts there are genuine mitigating circumstances).  
  • legal costs
  • debt repayment
  • activities promoting particular political goals or religious ministry.
  • Groups that have failed to meet accountability obligations from previous Council grants (within the last two years) will not be funded except:  
  • in exceptional mitigating circumstances, and/or
  • by stipulating that completing accountability is a condition of grant payment.

  • You can save and close your application at any time before you submit it. Once submitted your application cannot be changed.
  • When you submit your application you will recieve a .pdf copy for your records and it will also be saved in your account.
