Studio One Toi Tu - Creative Studio Residency 2019/2020

Residency Details

Creatives from all disciplines can now spend time delivering a project in the leafy inner city suburb of Ponsonby by applying for the creative studio residency at Studio One Toi Tū. Recipients of the residencies will receive ten months of free studio space at Studio One Toi Tū from November 2019 to August 2020, including 24-hour access to facilities to help achieve their project goals. The residencies are open across all creative categories including fine art, creative writing, performing arts, design, object art, film and fashion - as long as there is a sound idea behind your proposal. Each successful resident will also have access to resources, networking opportunities and mentorship from professionals within their field. Applications for the Studio One Toi Tū creative studio residencies are open now.

To apply, send a proposal outlining the work or project you wish to pursue throughout the residency through the website, Smarty Grants, Auckland Council's online application service.

Please note all applicants must be residents of New Zealand and be living in the Auckland area during the residency period.

Selection Criteria

The Studio One Toi Tū residency will contribute to the creative and professional development of the artist i.e. engagement with new and diverse audiences.

The proposed project is realistic and well planned i.e includes achievable goals. It provides Studio One Toi Tū audiences with access to innovative creative practices.

The proposed project opens opportunities to new collaborations with the Studio One Toi Tū communities and stakeholders
