An exciting opportunity to become the first operator of the Māngere Community Recycling Centre (CRC) 

The future is Zero Waste. That is our bold goal for Tāmaki Makaurau and a vision Auckland Council has committed to since 2012. In the past 12 years we have established 13 Community Recycling Centres, and we have seen the benefits of having local community organisations operating these sites and we are well on the way to expand to 21 centres plus two resource recovery parks by 2031.  

We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations to operate the proposed Māngere Community Recycling Centre.

This document outlines how the EOI process works, our requirements and you can enter a submission using this form.

Closing date for submitting EOI: 23 January 2026 

In late January/early February 2026 you will receive an email informing you of the outcome and if selected for the next stage you will receive information on the next steps which we envisage will include a kanohi ki te kanohi and followed by a Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
