Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Community Group Funding - 2014/2015 Round 1

Criteria
Applicants are encouraged to read the relevant Local Board Plan before submitting an application. You will be asked to identify how your project aligns with the local board’s priorities. Local board plans can be ordered from the call centre on (09) 301 0101, picked up from your local library or Council service centre or viewed online at www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/localboardplans.
The Board will use the following criteria to assist in making decisions on how they allocate the available funds. These are not eligibility criteria but rather guidelines in help the Board when considering the merits of each proposal.
The benefit of your proposal to the local area including:
- The reach of the proposal (i.e. the size of the community benefit in geographical or population terms)
- The legacy and sustainability of the proposal
- The potential for the proposal to grow and develop beyond the initial project
- Your group’s current and future role in the local area
- Experience of your group working within Devonport-Takapuna
- The extent to which your group can support future plans and developments for Devonport-Takapuna
- The alignment of your proposal with the priorities and objectives of the Board (see Local Board Plan)
- Whether the proposal attracts additional investment into the local board area (beyond Local Board funding)
Eligibility for Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Community Grant Funding:
- Activities must not have already taken place before the Board has the opportunity to consider the application (i.e. the funding must not be allocated retrospectively)
- The Board will not fund legal costs, debt repayment, catering, travel expenses or activities promoting particular political goals or religious ministry activities.
- The Board will not fund activities which are principally in the areas deemed to be the primary funding responsibility of central government or its agencies such as, but not limited to, health, education, housing, employment, immigration, social welfare and justice.
- Groups that have failed to meet accountability obligations from previous Council grants (within the last two years) will not be funded except:
- in exceptional mitigating circumstances, and/or
- by stipulating that completing accountability is a condition of grant payment.
